NR716 Week 4 Discussion Translation Science Theories and Models

Purpose

The purpose of this discussion is to provide you an opportunity to examine the applicability of translation science theories and models to all phases of a practice change project with an emphasis on sustainability of the evidence-based intervention beyond the implementation phase of a practice change project.

Instructions

Reflect on your practice problem as you consider possible solutions and address the following:

  1. Select one of the four translation science theories or models introduced in this week’s lesson. These include Diffusion of Innovation, Knowledge-to-Action, i-PARiHS, and Normalization Process Theory.
  2. Determine one sustainability strategy found in your selected translation science theory or model. Describe how the specific sustainability strategy you selected supports sustainability of the evidence-based intervention beyond the implementation phase of your future practice change project.

Solution: NR716 Week 4 Discussion Translation Science Theories and Models

The knowledge-to-action (KTA) translation model is designed to bridge knowledge to practice gap by enhancing the integration of evidence-based interventions into practice. The process involved in the KTA includes (i) knowledge creation in which the knowledge is refined through key steps of knowledge inquiry, synthesis, and tools/ products and (ii) knowledge action in which the problem is identified, current research appraised, barriers and success identified, planning, execution, evaluation, and adjustments done (Torres et al., 2023). Among the key sustainability strategies for the KTA model is monitoring and evaluation. The continuous assessment of the intervention’s implementation and outcomes allows for the tracking of the project’s progress, its effectiveness, and resource usage to ensure maximization of the benefits to the target population (Ham-Baloyi, 2022). Monitoring also allows for continuous feedback from stakeholders to inform necessary changes and improvements. This helps maintain the effectiveness and relevancy of the intervention, and allows stakeholder involvement and acceptance of the change, supporting successful implementation and long-term sustainability……Click on the PayPal icon below to purchase full solution for $5
