Solution:NR703 Week 6 Assignment Professional Leadership Capacity
Professional Leadership Capacity
The importance of nurse leadership extends past balancing costs, maintaining client and staff satisfaction, and monitoring productivity to include role modeling and leading teams in change projects (Nilsen et al., 2020). Effective leaders encourage, guide, and empower their team members to maintain a positive workplace culture by offering necessary resources and support to develop and implement appropriate policies and practices (Bakker et al., 2023). The focus of this paper is to discuss professional leadership capacity as a leader of a DNP practicum project under the sections interprofessional collaboration in leading project teams, communication in project management, leading through ethical relationships, and project management.
Interprofessional Collaboration in Leading Project Teams
As a DNP-prepared change project leader, fostering interprofessional collaboration (IPC) is critical to achieving patient-centered outcomes. One key approach to IPC is creating an environment of mutual respect and shared values by initiating the project with a collaborative kickoff meeting to co-create a team charter that defines shared goals, values, and communication norms (Bornman & Louw, 2023). According to Bornman and Louw (2023), collaborative goal-setting, and structured team agreement, help improve role definition and clarity and foster trust. I will also adopt a transformational leadership approach to inspire a shared vision, encourage intellectual stimulation, encourage diverse contributions, and empower team members to enhance their performance within the teams, leading to enhanced job satisfaction and team performance (Bakker et al., 2023). Regular reflective sessions and constructive conflict management (e.g. mediation and collaborative styles) will help in connecting daily tasks to the project’s broader purpose and reduce barriers such as communication gaps or fears about professional identity (Bornman & Louw, 2023). Interdisciplinary rounds with nurses, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and other healthcare teams will prompt shared decision-making and teamwork toward achieving the project goals (Shoukat et al., 2023).
To facilitate flexible team roles, I will adopt agile methods and role fluidity. Regular sprints will allow for iterative role adjustment based on the dynamic project needs while cross-training will allow team members to understand each other’s roles and be able to adjust as needed (Bornman & Louw, 2023). An example of leveraging role flexibility and cross-disciplinary strengths is having the nurse informaticists assume the role of training nurses on using new technologies even if the information technology (IT) team holds the primary responsibility (Nilsen et al., 2020). Shared leadership models, which focus on shifting from hierarchical to shared leadership will also help with role flexibility as according to Shoukat et al. (2023), it enhances innovation, reduces burnout, and empowers team members to collaborate in finding evidence-based solutions that extend past conventional boundaries. I will be sure to use digital communication platforms (e.g. virtual meetings, email alerts, Microsoft Teams) and communication routines for real-time updates and feedback loops to enhance transparent team communication in project management (Shoukat et al., 2023).
Communication in Project Management
Effective communication is the cornerstone of successful project management in healthcare. As a DNP nurse leader, I ought to apply appropriate approaches to ensure clarity, innovation, and adaptability within a change project. Among the approaches is external mindfulness, a key element of emotional intelligence that focuses on being aware of external stakeholders, environmental pressures, and systemic barriers (Coronado-Maldonado et al., 2023; Daniel et al., 2022). I will conduct stakeholder mapping to identify the project’s key stakeholders and tailor communication to their priorities. Active listening in interdisciplinary meetings will in…..Click the paypal icon to purchase full solution for $10
