Throughout the NR585  course, several key concepts profoundly impacted my understanding and practice of evidence-based practice (EBP), research ethics, and strategies for dissemination. I specifically focused on post-operative pain management using Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) to reduce opioid over-reliance. The concepts learned in this course have provided a solid foundation for my future practice as a master’s-prepared nurse practitioner (NP). One concept that stood out was the integration of EBP to address real-world clinical problems. The development of the PICOT question allowed me to break down a clinical issue systematically and identify a research-driven approach for implementation. I learned the value of combining quantitative and qualitative evidence to understand both the measurable outcomes (e.g., pain levels, opioid use) and patient-centered experiences.

Application to Future Nursing Practice

As a future MSN-prepared nurse practitioner (NP), I envision using the knowledge gained to advocate for and implement EBP changes within clinical settings.
