The nursing theory guiding the article by Combs and Arnold (2022) is Watson’s Theory of Human Caring. Through the article, Watson’s theory application of the nursing metaparadigm is demonstrated, specifically in the issue of human trafficking. The theory views a person as a holistic being whose body, mind, and soul must be cared for; health as harmony within one’s mind, body, and spirit; environment as a therapeutic atmosphere that supports healing; and nursing as the art and science of caring (Alharbi & Baker, 2020).
