Overview
You are required to create a Health Education Brochure based on a disease of public interest that is covered in one of your assigned readings in this course. Consider a topic that affects your unit/patient population and could be used towards increasing patient education.
Instructions
You must complete the assignment in current APA format, citing at least 5 peer-reviewed references (published within the last 5 years). The references must be listed in a reference page on the back of the brochure. Your brochure must include the following:
- At least 4 characteristics of the disease process
- Explanation of 4 or more identification/diagnostic tests
- Identification of 4 or more risk factors of the disease
- Outlines of 4 or more treatments for the disease
- A list of 4 or more referrals/contacts for increased support and patient follow-up
Brochure Template Help: Microsoft Word makes brochure templates available to assist users during development. Word 2003–2010 users can follow the steps below:
- In Microsoft Word, choose File > New.
- In the task pane on the right, select the section for Templates.
- Choose your preferred option and follow the instructions.

- Go to office.microsoft.com.
- In the horizontal list above the search bar, select “Templates.”
- In the menu below “Office Templates,” select “Word.”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under “Top categories,” select “Brochures.”
- When you find a brochure you want to use, click on it and select “Download” to transfer it into your version of Microsoft Word.
- Be sure to select an appropriate brochure. Not all the available options will be applicable to this assignment.
- If you have an older version of Microsoft Word, check to make certain the brochure is compatible. Brochures list their compatibility below their title; additional details, if available, can be found by clicking on the brochure.
