Solution: NR586NP Week 4: Collaboration Café Infectious Disease Outbreak
The infectious disease I have chosen to discuss is the COVID-19 outbreak, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which began as a localized cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. It rapidly escalated into a global health crisis, officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. A pandemic represents the highest level of threat in infectious disease classification, signifying sustained and widespread transmission across multiple countries and continents (Hawkins et al., 2021). The WHO provides reliable epidemiological data on COVID-19 outbreak (WHO, 2024)
Strengths of the Public Health Response
One of the key strengths of the response to COVID-19 was the implementation of robust communication strategies. Governments and public health organizations globally undertook extensive public awareness campaigns to educate people about preventive measures such as handwashing, mask-wearing, and maintaining physical distance (Hawkins et al., 2021). Regular updates from health authorities, often delivered through press briefings or social media…..Click the paypal icon to purchase full solution for $5
